Weekday Fun for LI Families: Passover Dinner, Spring Break Camps, Easter Fun

Passover dinners, weekday camps and photos with the Easter Bunny — here is what’s happening across Long Island this week!

Passover Dinner at Thyme

On Monday, April 10 and Tuesday, April 11, Thyme Restaurant in Roslyn will offer a special Passover Dinner Prix Fixe Menu from 4p - 9p. Menu items include: Traditional Seder Plate, Matzo Ball Soup, Pan-Roasted Chicken, and more! Children’s options also available. Cost: Adults $59 / Children under 10 years $24. Peter Rabbit at Bayway Arts Center

(~15 minutes from our West Islip location)
Hop on over to East Islip’s Bayway Arts Center Children’s Theatre through Wednesday April, 12 to catch a performance of Peter Rabbit. See what adventures (and mischief) he and his cousin Benjamin get into each day at 1p. Tickets cost $11 per person.

Free Family Drop-In Day at The Long Island Museum

(~10 minutes from our Nesconset location)
On Tuesday, April 11 from 11a - 1p, bring the family to tour the Edible Eden exhibition in the Art Museum. Starting at 11:30a, museum educators will lead family fun activities and crafts in the Studio. All will discover how different artists have depicted food from Long Island’s forests, fields and waters.

Hands-on Science Zone Activities at the Cradle of Aviation Museum

(~20 minutes from our Massapequa Park location)
From April 11 - April 13 from 11a - 4p, participate in three great hands-on activities! Rising Sea: See how the land can change as waters rise. Ice Orbs: See how astronauts might look for signs of life hidden on a frozen planet. Imagining Life: Imagine a faraway planet and the alien life you think inhabits it. Learn more here!

Take a Photo with the Easter Bunny at Smith Haven Mall

The Easter Bunny Photo Experience is open and this week is your last chance to capture those keepsake photos! Head to simon.noerrbunny.com to reserve your appointment for a photo with the fluffy one ahead of time.

Upcoming Easter Egg Hunts on Long Island!

 
The Leprechaun came and went, now the Easter Bunny is getting ready to start his hop across Long Island. If you’re looking for some “eggcellent” weekend festivities - we’ve got you covered:
Easter Egg Hunt at Old Mill Nurseries - Bellmore
Saturday, March 19th at 12pm
Cost: Free
Take part in the 12th Annual Easter Egg Hunt this weekend! Starting at 11:30am, the Easter Bunny and his helpers will hide over 1,000 eggs around the Old Mill Nursery - marking 10 Special Eggs that can win you a prize! The hunt begins at 12pm followed by pictures with the Easter Bunny at 12:30pm - bring your cameras!

Spring Egg Hunt at Belmont Lake State Park - North Babylon
Saturday, March 19th from 12-2pm
Cost: Free
Children of all ages can take part in an Easter Egg Hunt as well as enjoy various games, pony rides, and other live animals! There will also be a special appearance from the Easter Bunny himself!

Spring Eggstravaganza at the Long Island Children's Museum - Garden City
Saturday, March 19th from 6-9pm
Cost: $11 per person, $9 LICM members
Home on over to the Long Island Children’s Museum to meet Peter Cottontail, take part in egg relays, and other themed crafts! Collect eggs are you bounce from activity to activity and for a small fee ($4) enjoy “Eggcellent” Performers by the National Circus Project! 

Special Needs Easter Egg Hunt @PlayAmusements - Farmingdale
Thursday, March 24th from 6-8pm
Cost: $15/child
For families with special needs children AND their siblings, head over to @PlayAmusements on 110 in Farmingdale. The $15 per child includes UNLIMITED rides, $4 worth of tokens for arcade games, food and drinks, and of course - an Easter Egg hunt! Must pre-register to attend!

Eggstravaganza at Quogue Wildlife Refuge - Quogue
Saturday, March 26th from 11-11:45am OR 2-2:45pm
Cost: $8/child. Reservations required, ages 5-12
Inspect the Refuge egg and nest collection for ideas to create your own fun nest craft. You may want to bring a smock or an old shirt with you. Kids will decorate their own ‘nests’ and color and decorate hard-boiled eggs to take home. Dress appropriately, the program may take place outside!

Easter on Long Island!

 
Vibrant colored eggs, peeps, and chocolate bunnies -- Easter is here! Looks like clear skies are on the horizon, perfect for the Easter Bunny to hop all over Long Island hiding those eggs.

If you’re looking for things to do with the family this holiday weekend, check out some of these local Easter happenings below:

Easter Egg hunts – On Long Island this Saturday April 19th, and Easter Sunday kids will be looking for treat-filled Easter eggs. Farmingdale, Cold Spring Harbor, Smithtown, and East Meadow are just a handful of places that will be hosting an Easter egg hunt adventure. Be sure to check out MommyPoppins to find out where and when the hunt is happening!

 
Spring Festival – Come on down to Smithtown tomorrow, April 19th, from 12-4pm and enjoy a fun-filled day of relay races, face painting, egg hunts and a special appearance by the Easter Bunny! For more information click here »

Peter Rabbit Performances - At 2pm at the Studio Theatre in Lindenhurst tomorrow, take the kids to go see a musical performance! Or head to Port Jefferson at Theatre Three to watch the famous tale.
