Adelberg Montalvan Has Gone PINK for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

As you may know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and in honor of the survivors, fighters, and those affected by breast cancer, we have again gone PINK at all of our locations.

We are proud to announce our offices are gloving up and joining the fight against breast cancer! We will be using pink products to raise money for finding a cure to this terrible disease.
It is said that roughly 1 in 8 women in the US will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. While early detection (regular self examinations and yearly mammograms for women over 40) is key for reducing breast cancer mortality - studies have also shown that taking care of your teeth and gums could decrease your breast cancer risk.

In general, gum disease causes inflammation, a marker for generalized ill-health. The inflammation is due to bacteria that forms plaque on the gums and teeth. This same bacteria can result in the Epstein-Barr virus and cytomegatocirus - both of which can suppress the body’s immune system, contributing to the incidence of breast cancer. This is why regular dental visits are important to monitor the health and condition of your teeth and gums.

Adelberg Montalvan Pediatric Dental is Going PINK For BCA

The month of October accounts for several national observance, including National Dental Hygiene Month, National Orthodontic Health Month, as well as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In honor of the survivors, fighters, and those affected by breast cancer, we have gone PINK at all of our locations.

We are proud to announce our offices are gloving up and joining the fight against breast cancer! For every box of pink gloves we purchase this month, a donation will be made to finding a cure.

We’ll also be Making Strides Against Breast Cancer on Sunday, October 19th at Jones Beach State Park to support our very own, Patty! Today 1 of every 2 women newly diagnosed with breast cancer reaches out to the American Cancer Society for help and support. The donations our team raises will enable investment in groundbreaking breast cancer research, free information and services for women diagnosed with the disease, and access to mammograms for women who need them.

Our donations will help more than 2.9 million breast cancer survivors celebrate another birthday this year!

Adelberg Montalvan Has Gone PINK

Adelberg Montalvan Pediatric Dental and Orthodontics
In addition to Orthodontic Health Month, Dental Hygiene Month, Pumpkin Carving, Halloween Fun, Fall leaves, and everything else October has to offer, it is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It's important we take the time and effort to help spread awareness to save more lives of women around the world.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women. Did you know you may be 11 times more likely to develop breast cancer if you have poor oral health or gum disease? (Total Health)

In general, gum disease causes inflammation, a marker for generalized ill-health. The inflammation is due to bacteria that forms plaque on the gums and teeth. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month we have "Gone Pink" at all of our locations. We are using disposable 'pink' products to support Breast Cancer Awareness and research with some of the cost of the items being donated to Susan G Komen.

So to all the survivors and fighters, we are with you!

How are you helping spread awareness? Share with us on our Facebook page!
