Oh the weather outside is frightful! But not to worry, as you wait for this Snowmageddon to taper off, we've come up with some ways to help you pass the time indoors:
- Make your own snow globes - Find some small jars with sealing lids (mason or jam jars are perfect), liquid glycerin, distilled water, glitter, and small objects (toys, ornaments, branches, etc). To begin, glue the small objects to the inside of the jars lid. Then, fill the jar with distilled water, a few drops of glycerin, and some spoonfuls of glitter. Once the lid and objects are dry, screw the lid onto the jar tightly, flip over and ta-da! Your very own snow globe.
- Create a mini indoor movie theater - Load up your Netflix queue or grab the top titles from your child's DVD collection. Lay a bunch of pillows and blankets around the floor for a super-cozy viewing space and prepare to watch as many movies as your attention spans can handle!
- Bake some tooth friendlier desserts - This delicious dark chocolate truffle recipe uses Manuka honey - which has been proven to help kill bacteria in the mouth and prevent cavities from forming. No matter what item you plan to bake, just remember to rinse your mouth after to dislodge any sweet debris hiding around your teeth!
